Visiting cities in Tamriel the player will hear a rumor of an odd old man who lives near Draklow. The rumor will say that he spends all of his time searching old caves. Visiting the old mans cabin the player finds his body. His diary will reveal a strange story.

Diary information

The old mans name is Innes

He once accidentally found his way into Pellucidar and was enslaved by creatures called Mahars for more than ten years.

After escaping Innes found his way through a series of caves to the surface of Nirn.

Having been injured in the caves, Innes was in poor health and seriously injured. He locked the door to the caves. He stumbled down a hill and his back hit a boulder. Fearing that he was dying, Innes buried the key beneath a stone and left his silver dagger as a marker.

Days later Innes is found wandering in the woods near Draklow. The man who found him took him home and nursed him back to health. Because Innes had left behind his love, he spent the rest of his life searching for the cave.

Believing that he had finally found a reference to the cave in an old book, Innes marked the location on a map only days before he died.

The player now has the cave marked on their Cyrodiil map.

There will be no fast travel between Tamriel and Pellucidar. The player finds the cave and the key is under a rock at the bottom of a hill, climbing back up the hill and unlocking the door the player will find themselves at the beginning of a long series of caves.

The player will encounter several new races that are not prevalent in either Pellucidar or Cyrodiil. There will be quests and adventures that lead the player through the cave system to the world of Pellucidar.

Emerging from the caves the player will exit a cave only to find themselves trapped under a net. A Sagoth will approach them and knock them out. The player will awaken in the city of Phutra.

Phutra is the main city of the Mahars. The player awakens in a prison cell where another human shares the cell. The other human helps the player to escape.

The NPC encountered in the prison cell will be a key figure in the world of Pellucidar. The player will need to visit this individual throughout their stay in Pellucidar.

An idea was posted on another forum that I feel is exactly what I am looking for for the Pellucidar mod. The idea is that eating the hearts of certain animals and creatures will give the player bonuses and abilities. This is actually an ancient ritual enacted by many more primitive tribes throughout history. I still asked for permission to use the idea in Oblivion and in the Pellucidar project.


Also, the currency of Pellucidar needs an overhaul. I hope to use the teeth and hides of creatures as currency but this will take a tremendous amount of work.

I felt that the play of Oblivion was too linear. There is a huge amount of freedom in Oblivion and I want to exploit that feeling in my mod. The world will be much larger than Tamriel, the people scarcer and the quests will be more complicated.

example:
You find a man who is trapped in a cave by a bear. You can save him or leave him to his fate. If you leave him, he may live and returning to his village will make the people there dislike you. If you save him, you are a hero to his people but a menace to his enemies.

Everything in Pellucidar should have consequences. There will not be as many quests in Pellucidar as in Tamriel but they will be more complicated and less linear.

I like the idea about consequences, maybe a currency could be "Pretty stones" wich I beilieve a cave-man would call it, such as various raw gems found in veins outside, and in caves, gold / silver nuggets(not the ones from tamriel, but something like those)
since their glowy or shiny, they would most likely be of high value to a caveman, for example: from a weaponcrafter, you could buy a weapon for a pretty stone, and then the better items, the more pretty stones.
So in rocks and veins you should be able to find Pretty Stones, and In caves (extra high chance), and also on humanoid creatures.
Also you should add the ability to use your inteligence wich is superior to the cavemens, to get their items cheaper then you actually should, by for example telling them that some piece of junk is of high value, and then the better disposition you have with the person, the more chance they would actually believe you, and trade their goods for it.

then instead of using furs, teeth and stuff from animals as currency, you should be able to=
For example: From a leatherworker, you could buy a Leather armor for 1pretty stone.
OR you could bring him/her the needed items: Fur, Leather, Thread
Then you would get your item. So for the lazy ones who has currency: Buy it
and for the ones who enjoys to know that they actually worked for this suit of armor: gather the "ingredients".
and for a Dagger for example you could gather: Whale Tooth, Strap of Leather.
(Whale tooth 'cuz, you can Carve it into a specific shape, then wrap the strap of leather around(so you have a hilt))

Also as spells you could learn in Pellucidar, it should be shamanic spells:D
Such as calling upon a thunderstorm, an earthquake, using the wind to blast your enemies away, creating fire, and then bending it to strike your foes.
in a village there would most likely be a shaman, and the "king" if there is any, should be decided upon Shamanic skills, and Physiches. And if there is a king, he should rather be reffered to as a God. Since he is Wiser, Stronger, and has shamanic powers, to call down his wrath upon enemies.
Also you should be able to get some kind of bond with him, so he would grant you some of his wisdom.
(the king of pellucidar that is)

Weapon standards
Poor<- Medium ->Rich
Tree, Bone/teeth, Stone, Metal, Imbued*

*can be Tree, Bone/teeth, Stone or Metal, but it is imbued with specific items wich decides the Stats, Imbued is like unique.
So a Bone Imbued Metal Sword would grant you
Imbue stat: Strength of the Animal wich the bone is from
Metal stat: The strongest resource, it deals out the most damage, and has the most health.
or maybe a Red-Stone Imbued Bone Axe

Armor standards
Poor<- Medium ->Rich
Fur, Leather, Strong-Leathered, Devarin Scale Armor*, Imbued

*an idea for some huge crocodile-like creature, wich has a extra hardened skin


IMBUE ITEMS, ON WEAPON:
Bone: Strength of the Animal(extra damage). It would divide in 5 sorts of bones, first one would be from a weak Creature, and the number five would be from a strong creature
Stones: Theese are special rare gems, found in caves, wich needs to be enchanted by a shaman.
Raw Redstone, makes a Red-Stone: Fire Damage on strike.
Raw Yellowstone makes a Yellow-Stone: Lightning Damage on strike.
Raw Greenstone makes a Green-Stone: Poison damage on strike.
Raw Whitestone makes a White-Stone: Frost Damage on Strike.

then finally you should add a standard for both armor and weapon named Legendary:)
With a questline for it, where you would have to gather alot of stuff, and all -Stones.
Then you would get something very powerful, blessed by some god from pellucidar?Wink
u could use the MAngbetu, Gbaya, Tetela for legendary weapons..Smile

Special ways to gain the Stones and the pearl:
The Raw version of the item + Pure Mojo + the Armor / Weapon you want to imbue
Blood of the <Some extremely powerful monster in your mod> for Bloodstone
Holy Spring Water for Pellucidarian Pearl
Thunder Extract for the Yellowstone
Fire Extract for the Redstone
Poison Extract for the Greenstone
Frost Extract for the Whitestone

Poison extract from some poisonous creature
The 3 element extracts from some divine places?
